LolaDub Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz starring in new Newlyweds? Apr 30, 2008 10:54 AM Joe Simpson seems absolutely intent on wrecking as much of his daughters’ lives as he possibly can. Truly, if he sat down with a marker, paper, and poster board and drew out some type of chart titled, “Ways to Interfere with/Mess Up Offspring & Impede All Forms of Happiness,” he could not have done a better job. Which is why I’m pretty sure he’s planned this all out. Because any quasi-sane, loving parent would have stepped off by now and said, “You know what? Whatever I touch, I ruin. Maybe I should stop touching things.” And I mean that exactly how it sounds, Joe Simpson. Perv. Anyway, Joe has decided he wasn’t satisfied just ruining daughter Jessica’s life with his domineering, interfering ways while filming the Newlyweds with now ex-husband Nick Lachey. There’s a reason Nick’s an ex, and it rhymes with and looks just like Papa Joe. Simpson has decided (seemingly without involving his daughter in the decision) that Ashley and new fiancé Pete Wentz are going to do their own Newlyweds show. Because why wreck just one marriage when you can wreck two? Get yourself ready for the return of MTV’s Newlyweds — with a twist! Instead of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, it’s Simpson version 2.0 is coming your way, with Jessica’s little sister, Ashlee Simpson, 23, and fiancé, Pete Wentz, 28, set to appear as the couple in the hit MTV format — at least if Joe Simpson gets his way! Never one to miss a money-making opportunity, Ashlee’s dad and manager Joe seems determined to turn this idea into a reality. “He knows that no one cared about Jessica before her reality show, and he’s hoping a show for Ashlee will have the same effect,” a source close to the singer tells OK!. With a wedding on the horizon, a baby on the way and a famous rocker fiancé, Ashlee’s life has all the ingredients for a reality show. (Ashlee and Pete’s publicist tells OK! they are not set to appear in Newlyweds.) If the program comes off, let’s hope the Bittersweet World singer’s love story doesn’t end the same way as her sister’s failed marriage. [From OK!] Touché, OK. Touché. Never did I think I could wholeheartedly agree with anything that came from the printing press of OK Magazine, but they’re pretty much right on the ball on this one. The Simpson girls clearly don’t have the spine to stand up to their father. I was hoping one of their spouses would have, but if I were a betting woman, I would have gone with Nick Lachey long before I could imagine Pete Wentz standing up to Papa Joe. And I think he’s a little too busy sharpening his eyeliner pencil to be bothered. The sad thing is, I’d probably watch this show, if only to yell at Joe Simpson. http://www.celebitchy.com/11251/ashlee_simpson_pete_wentz_starring_in_new_newlyweds/
LolaDub Renée Zellweger: George Clooney's 'A Good Man' Apr 1, 2008 6:14 AM Renée Zellweger and George Clooney have been pals for a long time – long enough, it seems, that even wise-cracking about their personal lives comes easy. In a new interview with the U.K. edition of Marie Claire, the pair – who costar together in the new movie Leatherheads – have a good laugh about their views on marriage. "We've both been very successful at it," Clooney joked. (He's divorced, and Zellweger annulled her marriage to Kenny Chesney after four months). The pair have been friends for ten years and they've been romantically linked in the past, prompting Zellweger, 38, to joke: "We're married! Didn't you hear? The baby's coming in July. Why do you think I'm wearing this baggy jacket?" In all seriousness, though, she thinks Clooney, 46, is a "good man," saying: "It's just his natural disposition ... he does the right thing, it's almost a disease with him. I know it's shocking in this day and age that there's no scandal. He's just nice and he works very, very hard." 'One of My Dearest Friends' Clooney, twice named PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive, was similarly effusive about Zellweger, describing her as "one of my dearest friends." As the writer and director of the 1920s football comedy Leatherheads, Clooney says he felt under pressure as well. "When Renee commits, it greenlights a movie. So, there's a responsibility, as the director of this film, not to screw up my friend," Clooney said. Zellweger chimed in: "And I reminded him daily. 'Don't screw this up for me, man.'" Zellweger, meanwhile, has nothing but praise for Clooney, her director and costar, although she admitted feeling the pressure when she realized her part in Leatherheads was written for her by Clooney. "I was terrified," she says. "I didn't want to be the one who sucked in his movie. You'd much rather disappoint someone you're not going to see again source: people.com
LolaDub Jamie Lee Curtis Drops Her Top to Make a Point Mar 21, 2008 5:10 AM Actress Jamie Lee Curtis has once again decided to bare her soul – and body – to convince women that they will be their most beautiful if they take care of their bodies and age naturally. The star, whose curves turned heads in such early films as Trading Places and Perfect, will help celebrate her 50th birthday in November by posing gray-haired and topless on the cover of the May-June issue of http://www.aarpmagazine.org/ "AARP The Magazine"], available March 24. She made a similar splash in More Magazine in 2002 when she appeared makeup-free and unretouched in a sports bra and briefs, drawing attention at the time to her "fatty little tummy" and other flaws. The point, Curtis tells PEOPLE, is that glam isn't real, but good health is. Curtis Drops 20 Pounds on a Simple Diet After learning her cholesterol and blood pressure were too high about a year and a half ago, she dropped 20 pounds by giving up "fattening" foods that most Americans would consider relatively healthy – like crackers, bread and granola, which have white flour and sugar and are surprisingly high in fat. She hopes American women will learn from her example. She also gave away her uncomfortable shoes and most of her jewelry. For one, she doesn't wear them (save for her wedding band, a necklace with a charm for her daughters, diamond earrings and a watch), and also because she wants to lighten her load off the scale. "I've had the experience of going into people's homes after they've died, and I'm amazed at the number of things people amass and never look at again. And I'm just not that person," Curtis says. "I'm like the Terminator, that's what I am," she adds. "I should have a TV show where I go into people's houses and terminate their possessions." She Finally Learns What Beauty Is She says she prefers the natural look of her hair, which went gray in her mid-40s. And as sexy as she was in early films, she has more confidence than ever in her looks. "I think I have finally found what I hope beauty is, or at least, beauty as it applies to me," says Curtis, the daughter of Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis. She says she agrees with husband and film funnyman Christopher Guest, who once pointed out Jessica Tandy, gray-haired and dressed in a simple dress, as the most beautiful woman in a roomful of glammed-up celebrities. LolaDub Renee Zellweger - “InStyle” April 2008 Mar 19, 2008 1:26 PM Renee Zellweger had plenty to say about life, love, and new roles in the April 2008 issue of InStyle. Here’s what the 38-year-old opened up about: On being asked to star as the love interest for George Clooney in Leatherheads: “It was a no-brainer I heard George was making a movie and I said, ‘When?’ If he had asked me to make peanut-butter sandwiches for the catering, I would have said, ‘Crunchy or smooth?’” On watching all the hunky guys running around playing football: “I guess someone had to do it. (chuckles) Talk about living the dream.” On having a similar experience with Appaloosa costarring Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen and Jeremy Irons: “Again, poor me. (laughs) That was just awful. Men in cowboy hats and boots, every day.” On not being homesick: “Sometimes people ask, ‘Don’t you miss your home?’ Well, no. I go to work with George Clooney or Harry Connick. So, not so much.” On being an optimist 24/7: “I’m so fortunate. I think I was born happy.” source: justjared.com
